Design Development 2 - Publication - Company Brand Boards

Mocking up the Branding aspects for the 'Good Citizen Hanhdbook'

I chose to communicate the same simple message through promotional and identifying products such as :

- Phone screensaver
- Buisness Cards
- Notebook
- Bag
- Screen Saver
- Envelope
- Stationary

The use of a bright yellow colour i feel works well to convey the conecpt.

I chose to develop these products to push the handbook forward. The use of keeping things simple works well and allows for a free flow of simular design.

I decided to create the envelopes as an extra feature. I do however feel that they are too dark for the publication. The use of the clashing colours is quite harsh and doesn't allow for a positive vibe within the products. However, it is quite bold and helps to stand out.

I chose to keep the 'citizen' bag very simple, with just the logo applied to the canvas bag. The use of this clearly marks the logo identifier. I chose to keep the logo simple and large scale so that it covers the canvas bag. This is because it gets applied to many objects and products and can therefore be seen and recognised.

I feel that these designs works well as a set, and trending the colour yellow is effective. This works well to convey the aspects of design and pushes the design futher.

Logo Research:

Logo designs are an important aspect of the publication and branding of a company. The logo will represent the ideas of the concept and convey the messages that are rounded within the idenity.

Designspiration Logos:

These are the logos that are unique and well designed. These logos suit the aesthetic and message that the company ARE PROBBALY TRYING TO CONVEY:

A round logo seems quite relevant - it could represent the world or never ending unity. The use of hand written type also seems relevant. It creates an intimate and personal touch to teh logo design.

The use of adding a hand symbol is creative.
It could relate to 'A helping hand'. It also relates to the human aspect of helping people. The hand looks strong and yet helpful. This could be relevant to my ideas.

This logo design i feel is very effective. The use of the hand and the eye works well to combine into one image. This is clever and also helps to represent the main message of concept i would like to represent.

The use of simple line and clean structure is authentic and real. The logo is eye-catching and creative and the use of a 'gentle' hand could represent the 'gentle' aspect of humanity.

Design Development - Publication

Keeping within the theme of a simple layout and yellow i used some experiemnts to get the final application for my publication:

I like the use of overlaying text. it create s avisual attraction and the use of bright background makes the black type easier to read.

Steps:

On one of teh paes i thought ot would be applicable to add 'staircase' to the text. I chose to do this on
10 easy steps to being a ....

I like how the simple shapes can be aligned to reinforce the ideas within the text.

I used imergy from sources and used opacity to trend the image. I wanted to keep a subtle but effective highlight on the image to reficnece a camera lense and the 'spotlight'

With the bibliogrpahy i still wanted to encourgae the same format as with the rest of the publication, I feel tat the text looks effective.

Type and image:

Different types of t-shirt design. The illustaio and pattern and type and image tees stand out most to best represent a playful and cretaive vibe. The use of strong colour and imergy is effective.

Design Development - Publication

Using the research i had gathered about the colour yellow. i USED THIS AS A STARTING POINT FOR MY DESIGNS. I want the designs to be simply layed out for the target audience.

Simple design layout such as using simple gridding methods in indesign heped me to ahcieve the look i was aiming for.

Strating point:

I used the yellow to highlight aspects of teh design and to focus the layout method. The images used are fround from:

www.google.com/citizenship/peopleandplaces

I chose to use these images to represent a modern aesthetic for the design.
Instead of creating a very childish 'cartoon' image i though that the audience would relate more to a non-obvious image.

Sections of the design are for the

I feel that the designs work is a simple asthetic as they play to the 'vibe' i would like to portray.
The use of simple colour and simple layout allows for me to ommunicate to my audience.

Design Crowd - Imergery Research

All seeing Eye:

The shape of the triangles and eye design. Variations of the all seeing eye and how simple / detailed it can be generated.

The images from google:

I like the deisgsn with less deatil. It becomes more simple and visualy intresting to see layers emerge:
This deisgn is the best deisgn i feel. It generates a clear path of design and adds in a style which is clean and on trend:

The way that the deisgn are potaryed seem to reflect the 'tone of voice' All the images use the same basis but they all develop there own style and meanings. Shape intergration and use of tones and shades creates the designs to become more 'life' like and more appealing to audinces.

Colour is an important aspect of design. The publication needs to be attention grabbing and incude aspects of colour. I feel that that a bright colours oculd be relatbale to the auidience. I would laos be intrested in using a colour that is non-gener specific.

Color is a form of non verbal communication. It is not a static energy and its meaning can change from one day to the next with any individual. For example, a person may choose to wear the color red one day and this may indicate they are ready to take action, or they may be passionate about what they are going to be doing that day, or again it may mean that they are feeling angry that day, on either a conscious or subconscious level.

The color orange is the color of social communication and optimism. From a negative color meaning it is also a sign of pessimism and superficiality.

The yellow idea stands out to me most. It casious, but bright. It also suggests critism and various other aspects which relates to panopticism.

I feel that if i prodomindatly use yellow then it could be a casious decidion to represent the handbook publication.

These designs use bold, brass colours with thick and block shapes:

Hand Rendered:

The more hand rendered style appleask to me at the miniutes.
These designs all develop a sense of time and effort. Thin lines and scribbles creeate charcters and detailed illustaion.
