Ted Baker - Character Illustration Research

When illustrating the characters I wanted to created a friendly but traditional style. Taking influence from Beatrix Potters desigsns and elemst of quirky designs:

How images work on other products / surface ares:

To gain a better insight into how the deisgn can be utilzed and produced on a mass scale for mas products it was useful to see how Potters designs had been developed:

Adding the design and maipulating the images onto 

- Cushions

- Books

- Plates

- Homeware

and then onto large scale prints such as 

- wallpaper

- desks

- bags

Allows us to see the range of products that can develop frrom the illustartions.

Adding Charcter to Illustrations:

Adding a sense of chacter to an illustration is useful as it allows the illustartion to come to life and develop.

Acsessories that are prodominatly British inspired smart etire such as :

tradition british heats / monicals / briefcase / moustache etc

I like the style of these deisgns but i feel that a more outlined approach may be best. The colours may take away form the modernisation but traditional aspects of the brief we would like to capture.
