Design for Web: Examples of Good / Bad Websites

As part of Web Design, we have to research examples of good and bad websites: Here is a list :

GOOD >
http://snask.com/

The layout of this website is good as it introduces aspects of imergy in a creative way. Although there is alot of focus surrounding the centre of the page, it attacrts attention and allows for a complex approach.

The colour scheme is everywhere but the overall design is effective and i feel works well to suit the content, with close proximity images comming togtehr to make one impacted image.

BAD >
http://visboo.com/

This website overflows with informationa nd pop-up adds. It created layers of buttons and runs slowly due to mass images and information. The naviagtion is not well organised and it is confusing for the user.

GOOD >
http://designspiration.net/

Designspiriation's website is simple and easily readable. It has a clear white background and image sizes vary but it still lends its self to a complex and well layed out dimension.
The colour scheme is kept to a minimal whic also reflects the idea of a thought out design.

GOOD >

wateronwheels.com

gatesnfences.com

mrbottles.com

industrialpainter.com

as-grafixs.de

liceomilitar.edu.uy

citydeli.com

petersbuss.se

irishwrecksonline.net

ptbalirealestate.com

007museum.com

mamascheesies.com

I have selected all these images as examples of bad websites as i feel that these imlimant the design:

Bad clourchoice
information overload
type font
horrible headers
gradients
bright backgrounds / bright layouts
tacky logo's.
too much text

These are all things which suggest the negative layout aspects and create the websites horridness.

Good Websites introduce :

layout
complimentaory colour
spacing
easy navigation
simple designs
not overloading images

Paul Mosig from Racket selected WordPress to power the website for Circa, a restaurant situated in Melbourne, Australia. Paul has captured the spirit and distinct feel of the restaurant’s decor to create an equally distinct online presence.
