Initial Idea - Cult Film

The idea of creating something that is creative and something you are interested in is exciting. I have chosen to work with film because i feel that i am of good knowledge when it comes to this subjet. I believe that i could focus on indepependant firms and be able to relate that to graphic design well. 

Here is the presentation we have to prepare to gain feedback on so that we can start to develop a body of research over summer.

AIM AND/OR OBJECTIVE OF YOUR PROPOSED C.O.P.3 PROJECT

Explore the historical and theoretical aspect of Cultural Films and how they impact on society.

1.     What research needs to be undertaken into the general and specific contexts of your practice?

Research into directors, British film, European foreign film, film committees, USA Films Directors such as boyle / tarnintino / meadows > compare and contrast similar / portrayal of charcters / society within film. Top cult films > pro /cons > public reactions > reflections Cost of films – How it differs from massive blcokbusters Trends in society > relflect on films? Current society today – what trends last? Which die out soon? How films are shot to portray ‘culture’ – camera angles, scene selection, actors / looks.

I wanted to explore the cult film insdurty and ow they have impacted on society over the years.

Feedback

From the presentation it was decided that my subject matter was far to vast. There was no narrowing of topic within the cult theme which ould have caused problems.

Overall it was decided that i should change my question / theme to something that is more directly related to graphic design so that i could have a basis and starting point to focus on within the essay and pratical elements.
