Sustainability:
Environmental design, sustainable design, philosophy of designing physical objects, built environment, best use of things, print - outcomes, services which comply with principles of social economic and ecological. 
Publication - aimed at real world, actual companies, materials, leistlation, 

HAS TO GO OUT AND FUNCTION AND ENGAGE WITH AN AUDIENCE 
DIOLOG WITH ORGANISATIONS / INTERACTIONS WITH COMPANIES 

Consumerism:
Social and economic encourages the purchase of goods. design and how it becomes how can companies get away with that, branding > what makes successful brand, ethical consumption, seeks to protect and inform consumers by requiring such practices honest packaging.

Modernism:
Modern thought > character > engagement with ideas of modernism, form follows function, history. modernist movement in the arts, swiss style graphic design, helvetica, cultural tendencies, critically with history > reject  extend on principles > modernist era. Far reaching changes to western society in late 19th early 20th century. 

Social Impact:
Understanding the effects on socially that happen as a result of an action, activity, project, programme or policy. The IMPACT of this action, or activity. COMMUNICATION, activity being positive, writing > way world works, digital age, communication, social impacts combination of these things, enviomental issues, communicate impacts, positive and negatives.  Design issues, communication issues, physical interaction - kindle, instead of turning page > how changes happen, technology. Campaign and activists element - detail approach at audience aimed at. theme implies that the agenda on reporting AND MAKING a change in social impact.

Propaganda:
Form of communication that is aimed toward influencing : war propaganda / sunny delight - no oranges - propaganda - way we sell food being sustainable > brown packaging > position products branding brand guidelines, advertising standard / regulations. Publicity form West - effectively use same method and language of persuasion. How audience is targeted , marketing, ad's ad's on emials etc. 
Present side of argument etc. Start of design > this is good, even thought it is really bad.   

Visual Language:
A system of communication using visual elements. Colour theory, globalisation, communicate to semiotics signs and symbols, typefaces, tone o voice, image represent concepts, advertising > cultures what they say / mean. communicate undertsnaindg of theory and prove that you evidence this through the body copy + style of presentation. evidence through way you arrange / layout / type > evidence critical knowledge to way it is structured. Deconstructive and interactive.

Underpin work : Design and Interests : dialogue to understand where your work has come from. Awareness of graphic design.
