Publication - Design Process

I started to design the layouts of some A2 posters.
I wanted the designs to look professional but also easy to read so that anyone could read the information. I decided that the designs would be created on a vertical layout and that the designs would be double sided so that image and type could be on one side and a timeline feature could go on the revers, for each theme i chose:

THEME 1. PRINT ADS VS TELEVSION ADS:

CREATING A FORMAL LAYOUT AND USING PULISHED IMAGES SEEMED QUITE HARD AT FIRST BUT I WANTED THE IMAGES TO 'BLEND' WITH THE BACKGOURND SO I USED THE TOOL 'MULTILY' OVERLAY ON PHOTOSHOP AND THEN FROM THERE THE STYLE OF THE DOCUMENT STARTED TO TAKE PLACE. WHEN I HAD THE IDEA THERE WASNT REALLY ANY TIME TO MESS AROUND WITH LAYOUTS ETC, SO I JUST DECIDED TO CREATE THE DOUBLE SIDED POSTER.

1ST ATTEMPT:

2ND ATTEMPT:
THESE IAGES I FEEL QUITE STRONGLY ABOUT. THE USE OF IMAGES AND TEXT ON THE FRONT I=DESIGN WORKS WELL WITH THE CONTRASTING TEXT BASED REVERSE SIDE.

CREATING THE CLOURED LINES WAS SYMBOLIC FOR THE 3 MAIN ADVERTSING FORMS:
PRINT // TELEVSION // WEB

I FELT THIS WOULD WORK THOUGHOUT THE PUBLICATION AND COULD ALSO ADD AN INTRESTING DESIGN  AND BRIGHTEN UP THE IMAGES.

BACK       FRONT

THE TIMELINE WAS SIMPLE AND I FELT THAT WAS TEH BEST WAY TO PORTRAY THE CONTENT. TH USE OF A VERY SIMPLE LAYOUT FOR THE IMAGES ON THE FRONT DESIGN ALSO TIES IN WITH THE WAY I WANTED MY PUBLICATION TO WORK OUT. I FEEL THAT THE DESIGNS WOULD LOOK EFFECTIVE ND RELEVANT ON NEWSPRINT AND FOLDED INTO A POCKET FOLDER.
