WHAT IS A LINE // GENERAL RESEARCH

I HAVE SELECTED THESE IMAGES TO GET A BASIC AND GENERAL LAYOUT STRUCTURE FOR MY DESIGN. I FEEL THAT THESE DESIGNS ARE UNIQUE AND WORK WELL AS THEY ARE BASIC AND THEY MANIPULATE IMAGE.

BASIC SHAPES : I FEEL THAT THESE IMAGES WORK WELL AS TEHY ARE COLOURED MATCHED. THE USE OF HAVING A DIFFERENT SHAPE WORKS WELL.

PATTERNS IN LINES ARE ALWAYS CREATIVE AND SEEM TO DRAW ATTENTION.

I REALLY WANT TO WORK WITH GRADIENTS THROUGH MY IMAGES. BLENDING COLOURS AND SHADES IS QUITE A A NUETURAL DIVIDE AND CREATES A BLEND OF INTRESTING IDEAS. IT MAKES THE IMAGE SEEMS QUITE RELAXING AND VIBRANT AT THE SAME TIME.

PATTERNS ARE UNIQUE TO DESIGN. THE USE OF LINES WITHIN THIS IS VERY EFFECTIVE AND FOR ONE SECTION OF MY BOOKLET I FEEL THAT I WILL BE ABLE TO DEVLOP COLLAGE THROUGH THIS.

THE ABOVE COLOUR I THINK IS VERY GOOD. AND WOULD LOOK GOOD I COLLAGE DEISGN.

LINES WITHIN COLLGE!

WHAT IS A LINE // LAYOUT RESEARCH

LAYOUT DESIGNS:

Simple layout, i feel is the most effective form of layout. I feel that when designs are quite complicated like collages are, that simple designs and layout is effective. Heres some basic layouts i have elected from various websites such as fffound.com // studio8.com and others.

WHAT IS A LINE // RESEARCH - COLLAGE

MARIO WAGNER
http://www.mario-wagner.com/

I have chosen to focus on Mario Wagner's work as i feel that the way he designs is extremely creative. He uses collage is a unique way that incorporates line // image // colour // texture and pattern very well. the use of adding old vintage images also creates these designs to look specific to collage.

LINE:
Using line in in his collages separates the design and allows for a focus on the designs. The use of line in all these designs also helps to create an outline or background image.

Most of this design seems to be controlled by line. This applies a sense of sectioning within an image and breaks up the design a lot because it is full of colour and imergery.

Grid lines - Within this image Wagner has developed the lines into a grid shape and i think it looks quite effective.

I feel that Mario's work is quite effective in portraying collage. He is one of my favourite designers and I feel that he works really relate to my project that i am doing for what is a line. The terms of design are quite complicated and i would like to make my designs more contemporary and feel that if i decided to create collages i would want ten to resemble this.

What is a Line? - BRIEF

COLLAGE:

A collage (From the Frenchà coller, to glue, French pronunciation: [kɔ.laːʒ]) is a work of formal art, primarily in thevisual arts, made from an assemblage of different forms, thus creating a new whole.
A collage may sometimes include newspaper clippingsribbons, bits of colored or hand-made papers, portions of other artwork or texts, photographs and other found objects, glued to a piece of paper or canvas. The origins of collage can be traced back hundreds of years, but this technique made a dramatic reappearance in the early 20th century as an art form of novelty.
The term collage derives from the French "coller" meaning "glue".[1] This term was coined by both Georges Braqueand Pablo Picasso in the beginning of the 20th century when collage became a distinctive part of modern art.[2]

MARIO WGANER

PATTERN:

pattern, from the French patron, is a type of theme of recurring events or objects, sometimes referred to as elements of a set of objects.
These elements repeat in a predictable manner. It can be a template or model which can be used to generate things or parts of a thing, especially if the things that are created have enough in common for the underlying pattern to be inferred, in which case the things are said to exhibit the unique pattern.
The most basic patterns, called Tessellations, are based on repetition and periodicity. A single template, tile, or cell, is combined with duplicates without change or modification. For example, simple harmonic oscillators produce repeated patterns of movement.

STAMP IT - General Research //

Brief B: World with a Future
Design a set of stamps as a means of encouraging consumers to make positive environmental changes and educate future generations with regard to energy conservation, low-impact transport, zero-carbon housing, and reducing water over-consumption.

The digital templates of the various stamp sizes provided are to assist you in your design work. They are shown at 400 percent but the actual sizes of the stamps are 27mm x 37mm portrait, 35mm x 35mm, 37mm x 35mm landscape, 30mm x 41mm landscape.

As described in the Submission Details for this project, one of your presentation sheets should show your set of stamps at actual size, and a second presentation board should show them at four times larger than actual size.
The templates include a blank outline, an outline with the Queen's head and first class value, and an outline showing the two alternative positions that the Queen's head can take, together with the alternative positions that the first class value can take.
"A variety of environmental problems now affect our entire world.  As globalization continues and the earth's natural processes transform local problems into international issues, few societies are being left untouched by major environmental problems.
