I have just received the occupation of PAINTER AND DECORATOR.
I have to use the proverb - GIVE CREDIT WHERE CREDIT IS DUE
Then I have to use this to develop a mail shot in response to this previous brief.
I did some initial research based on painting and decorating and found 10 interesting facts on the occupation then followed it up with more research:
COLOUR AND TOOL RESEARCH
I LIKE THE USE OF RED IN THIS PANTONE IMAGE, I FEEL THAT THE USE OF THIS MATCHED WITH THE OLD DESIGNS COULD WORK WELL AND REPRESENTS A BRIGHT COLOUR WHICH REFLECTS ON THE PAINTING INDUSTRY BEING POSITIVE.
THE USE OF PAINT CANS COULD LOOK EFFECTIVE ON THE DESIGNS - VERY SIMPLY PLACED AND HAVING A SPLASH OF COLOUR COULD WORK WELL.
BUSINESS CARD RESEARCH
THIS IS TOO BASIC FOR ME. I WOULD PREFER THE PAINTBRUSH TO NOT BE HAND DRAWN AS I FEEL IT LOOKS TO MESSY AS A DESIGN.
THE USE OF THIS BRUSH STROKE LOOKS EFFECTIVE BUT ONCE AGAIN TOO MUCH IS GOING ON I FEEL. IT WOULD LOOK ALOT MORE INTERESTING IF I COULD DEVELOP THE BRUSH ON A SIMPLE WHITE BACKGROUND WITH RED PAINT MAYBE?
THIS BUSINESS CARD IS QUITE STYLISH AND WORKS WELL, USEING A SET OF 3 IMAGES IS EFFECTIVE - THE COLOUR SCHEME IS GOOD TOO.
LOVE THIS DESIGN, I FEEL IT IS VERY WELL EXECUTED, COLOUR SCHEME IS LIKE THE ONE I WOULD LIKE TO USE - FORMAT WORKS VERY WELL, I COULD MAYBE DO THIS WITH PAINT BRUSHES OR A ROLLER.
TYPOGRAPHY RESEARCH
I LOVE ALL OF THESE DESIGNS. I THINK THE SIMPLICITY OF EACH ONE MATCHED WITH THE TYPOGRAPHY LOOK VERY INTERESTING - ALL OF THESE I FEEL WOULD WORK WELL TO REPRESENTS PAINT AND DECORATE IN A MODERN WAY. I FEEL THAT USEING A 'HAND DRWN' OR MORE LOOSE TYPE WOULD NOT LOOK MODERN.
RESEARCH ON PAINTER AND DECORATOR COMPANIES:
TO GET AN IDEA ACROSS I WOULD LIKE TO DEVELOP PROMOTION OR A NEW SLOGAN FOR A PAINTER AND DECORATOR COMPANY, THESE COMPAINES HAVE TO BE REAL SO WE COULD SEND THEM THE MAIL SHOT. I FEEL THAT IF I DEVELOPED A NEW PROPOSAL FOR SAY A BIG HEAD OF PAINTERS AND DESIGNERS THEY COULD SEND OUT THAT MESSAGE TO THE DIFFERENT APINTERS AND DECORATORS WITHIN THEIR SYSTEM. THEREFORE FULL FILLING THE BRIEF AND DEVELOPING A MAILING LIST.
